Minority Health Research and Education Grant Program
The Minority Health Research and Education Grant Program (MHGP) provides funding to eligible institutions of higher education to conduct research and educational programs on public health issues affecting one or more minority groups in Texas. The Texas Legislature first established and funded this competitive grant program as a result of the state's Tobacco Lawsuit Settlement in 1999.
